Baby Deer!

We have new friends in our yard lately. They are very small versions of the animals that I chase out of the yard. Mom and Dad are calling them baby deer and apparently the rules of engagement are different for the "baby" version of this animal - as I have been yelled at for chasing them. They however, are very fun to chase as they are a bit slower and I have almost been able to catch up to one. Mom things they are cute - (not as cute as me) and Dad keeps telling them to stay away from the Crepe Myrtle.

The first picture is a deer that was born in our back yard. Dad found it when he was cutting the grass. It was just laying there. It was not interested in playing with me at all. Mom likes it's eyelashes.

The next picture is last night. It is a little older, but still has those spots - like mine! It is still much smaller than me.

Bones to chew

Laz and I got a special treat this weekend. We got some bones from the meat market. They were huge. I, of course, took the big one first. Dad put them on the grill and seasoned them so they would taste like their other meat. I loved chewing while on the grass in the front yard. Laz is an excellent chewer. He finished one bone, but I have plenty left and Dad put it in the refrigerator for another time. It has been rainy here, but the bones helped me get a lot of energy out.

Me at Texas State

I am here, and posting to our blog in real time! I am loving it and I got to meet a lot of people in the main office. One lady even gave me a part of a donut. I love donuts. I have been hanging out with Mom and Dad, playing with Mosi, and being a good boy. We are stopping at Southwest Market on the way home. It is a good Texas BBQ joint.

Reminder: Take your Dog to Work Day

Hi, Laz here just with a friendly reminder about Take your Dog to Work Day this Friday. This will be my third holiday, and I generally go with Dad to a campus. I went to UND twice and this year we will go to Texas State. Since Mom doesn't work on Fridays, I think she and Mosi are coming to campus too.

Denver

Kevin and I visited Colorado this past weekend to see my parents. We had a good time, and Grandpa came down on Friday night. We had lots of good meals and fun activities. These pictures are of the Rockies Game at Coors Field in Denver. The Rockies won 11-2 and we all got a free T-shirt when we entered the game. The T-shirt was a jersey T of Hawpe, and he hit a homerun!

Laz and Mos stayed at Camp Bow Wow and had a good time. When we picked them up, Moses jumped over the counter, pushed open the door, jumped into the open window of the car and looked at us as if to say "Lets Go!" The workers said they loved Lazie and Moses so I think they were well taken care of. We need to work on Moses not spilling his food all over!

Dog Day at the Rangers (Lazarus)

They saved the best for last. While the game was really hot, I liked going because I got to meet a lot of people. One of my new friends was the Captain or a big soft horse that came around to meet people and dogs. There were two girls who were sitting in front of us also like me a lot. They took some photos of me with their phone. I also was so thirsty that I drank some of Dad's coke even though I generally do not like soda. Mom also got me and Moses a Lemon Chill that I liked and it helped cool me off. I just love going into new places. After a while, it was way passed my bed time so I went to sleep at the game. It was a lot of fun though.

Dog Day at the Rangers (Kevin)

This was great because I got to share something I love with my whole family. We drove up on Sunday morning to Dallas for the evening game. On our way to the stadium we stopped at Daley Plaza in Dallas to see where JFK was assassinated. The first photo is Julie and the boys in front of the Book Depository where Oswald allegedly fired his shots. We got a hotel room near the ballpark and cooled off a bit before the game, and then went to see the Texas Rangers play the Milwaukee Brewers. We were all excited, and Lazie and Mosi both got a tukey leg and a novelty batting helmet full of ice cream. It was a great time even though the Rangers ended up losing in 12 innings.

Dog Day at the Rangers (Julie)

I had a great time at the game even though it was hot. I got on tv with Mosi, and I made a sign the night before. I got to get new markers to make the sign. The best was toward the end of the game when Moses came up to sit on my lap.

Dog Day at the Rangers (Moses)

Hey, Moses here. On Sunday, Dad and Mom drove us north for a while and then we went to this huge building where some guys were playing ball. Dad gave me a turkey leg and Mom got me ice cream and a lot of people were taking my picture. I even got my picture in the newspaper the next day in Fort Worth. It was pretty hot, but there were little pools and plenty of water bowls for us dogs. I even found some ice piles to play in! I liked it a lot because there were a lot of new sniffs and I loved hanging out with my pack for the whole night.

NBA Finals

As holders of a season ticket package with the San Antonio Spurs, Julie and I have had tickets to all the playoff games. WE never imagined they would get this far, and they sit on the precipice of the Championship for 2007. I have enjoyed seeing deep playoff basketball-- since I have been a life-long Bullets/Wizards fan I haven't seen much of that, and Julie has appreciated staring at Eva Longoria who has attended many of the games. Here are some of our photos from Game 1. The first two are outside the arena as we pose in front of the many TV backdrops used for location shoots, and the third photo is Julie getting her face painted adorned with a picture of the team mascot, The Coyote.

Back to the routine

All this talk about Mexico has made me hungry! On Friday night when Mom and Dad came home we were so excited! Both me and Moses jumped for joy. Thankfully, our friend Sarah picked us up at Camp BowWow so we did not have to stay another night. I guess I made a good impression on Samantha (one of the leaders at Camp BowWow) who told Mom on the phone that she is in love with me! Anyway, after Mom and Dad greeted us, Dad went to Chicken Express and picked up some chicken! We missed table food, but what a great way to return to it-- fried chicken! I love it and it is Moses' favorite. I think I would prefer ice cream or a cheeseburger, but I will never turn down chicken. Anyway, here are some pictures of us eating chicken and a photo of me being happy.

Julie's braids

Julie decided to have her hair braided while on the beach in Mexico. It only took a lady about 20 minutes to braid the hair and the braids have stayed in and tight for four days now. She will likely take them out this evening before we go to the Two Tons of Steel concert at Gruene Hall. Julie says that the best aspect of this hairstyle is, "Not having hair in my eyes." To our surprise, Moses has not been too interested in the holders.

Little Surfer Girl

Little surfer, little one, makes my heart come all undone.
I do love you little surfer girl!

We could ride the surf together as our love would grow, in my arms I gladly take you everywhere I go.

Surf Kayaking

I got to try out surf kayaking. Our friend from USC, Blaine Jones, was actually ranked as a surf kayaker at one time, so we wanted to try it. The photos show me in the single kayak, but we did go out a couple of times in a double with Julie in front. The only time we tipped while surfing was when I was calling to paddle on the left side of the vessel and Julie was paddling hard on the right side. I yelled, "Left, Left, OTHER LEFT" but by the time Julie realized her error we were capsized. All in all, we did really well and took some four to five foot waves. We also went sailing twice in a Hobie cat. The first time it was really windy and choppy. Julie got more salt water in her face than she wanted. It was just so nice to be active in the water. We miss the Pacific Ocean. The rivers are great, but it is not a workout like battling the waves.

Trip to Nuevo Vallarta

Julie and I took our vacation to Nuevo Vallarta last week. It is in the state of Nayarit in Mexico. We had a wonderful time at the resort doing numerous activities which will be explained later in the blog. The best part of the trip was that the resort was all-inclusive and we did not pay for the trip. Julie won it in a drawing from KNBT and Ascot Travel. It is something we would usually not do. The pictures are: us in front of the Pacific Ocean, us on a bridge over one of the pools, and Julie lounging under one of the huts along the beach.
